"Our stay was lovely. If you are planning to be in the Lake Como area, but would like to avoid the hustle and bustle of Bellagio/Varenna/Como, I highly recommend Filario in Lezzeno. It’s a quieter town, with ferry and bus access to get wherever you need to be on the lake. It’s also not a bad idea to spend the day at Filario itself. Lovely private beach, excellent included breakfast, and beautiful rooms with an unbeatable view. Highly recommend!"
"Villa Reverie was the perfect spot for our Lake Como stay. It checked all of the boxes. The views were absolutely stunning, beds comfortable, breakfast convenient (omelet, meats/cheese/fruits/pastries), and property very clean. We really preferred the location to others on the lake as well. Bellano itself doesn't really have much to do outside of the Gorge (must do!), but the ferry and train stations are only a 10-15 minute walk. They are not nearly as crowded as other locations and we were able to still find "fast" ferry options everywhere we wanted to go. Just plan ahead. The hotel is also only a 10 minute drive to Varenna and we were able to park there for about 6 euros each night for dinner in a public parking garage. Varenna had amazing restaurants along the water and cobblestone streets. We were also able to park at the hotel, which was super helpful if you have a car. The owners were very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. Wonderful stay!"
"Amazing customer service! Great room, cool, clean and quiet!! Breakfast was excellent with a lot of choices. Would definitely recommend this hotel and location was fantastic!"
"This was the nicest hotel I’ve stayed at. The food was amazing. Perfect starting point to relax and have great food and cocktails for a trip to Italy"
"The pool lounger system is the one major flaw here, and it needs fixing. Guests go out around breakfast, leave belongings on loungers, and effectively reserve them for the entire day - often while the loungers sit empty for hours. At peak times, this creates long queues, and you can expect to wait 1-2+ hours for a lounger (even though many sit empty) simply because others are hoarding spots.
Management needs to enforce a clear time limit for unattended loungers and stop guests from “saving” chairs for friends or family who are not actually at the pool. The current setup is frustrating, unfair, and well below the standard of the rest of the hotel.
Pool service also needs improvement. Food was delivered to the wrong guests several times, and some of our orders were incorrect.
That said, we had an amazing stay overall. The rest of the property is excellent: restaurants and bars are lovely, the food and drinks are great, and the concierge, front desk, restaurant, and wider hotel staff were attentive, professional, and clearly experienced.
This is a beautiful hotel with excellent service in most areas, but the pool operation is a serious weak point and should be addressed."
