"Very highly recommended. The hotel has had a spruce up since I was last here and she's looking lovely. Very comfy beds and powerful shower with nice products. Great spa. Food and cocktails both delicious. Everyone super friendly and helpful. With local people coming in to use the pool or have a drink at the bar, it feels like part of the town as well rather than just a tourist enclave. We will be back. "

"Wonderful house. I have had many visits to Nairn over the years and this is my #1 for Accommodation. Whole house was immaculate. Location right in the heart of everything yet peaceful right beside the river. Very generous welcome pack too. We booked again for 2026 as soon as we arrived. "

"Wonder step back in time. Quiet , unassuming and comfortable. You relax as soon as you step through the doors. Small dinner menu but freshly cooked, reasonably priced and delicious. "I was visiting Forres for a work event and needed a hotel nearby. The Carlton was lovely. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming; check in was a breeze. The room was super clean and had all the amenities you needed. The bed was excellent and very comfy. Would thoroughly recommend this excellent hotel which is great value for money."

"The room was spotless and very comfortable. Obviously the Hotel is in transition. By and by rooms are being prepared to welcome guests. Only 11 rooms are available to book at this point. The price per room is unbelievably low. Especially since the electricity bill must be enormous. The hotel was overheated and lights were on in almost every hall, lounge and room and stayed on during the night. Heating as well as the lights. No consideration was given to the ecological impact. "

"My family (especially my 5 year old daughter) and I LOVED seashell cottage. Cromarty is a special place for us and the cottage was a wonderful and cozy place to stay while we were visiting. Wish we could have stayed longer!"
