"The drive up the mountain to Volterra was stunning. Then we arrived and parked in a nearby car park long enough to move our luggage to the hotel. The staff was very helpful showing us where to move the car to park for free. The entrance to the hotel is right in the middle of the historic town. So many shops and restaurants to explore. A good bar and on the night of our stay they had a pianist entertaining the guest. Comfortable rooms with good air conditioning and calm surroundings gave a good night's sleep. "The property is set in beautiful surroundings and the staff were excellent and very helpful. However the amenities in the room were basic with no tea or coffee making facility and a totally inadequately sized key operated room safe. The provided small bottles of water in the fridge are not complimentary. The Hostaria Terre Rosse restaurant was excellent. The children's menu was only available from 7pm in the main restaurant and not earlier from the snack bar which was a shame."
