"Southern charm, historic, with great hospitality. Staff was helpful, courteous and friendly. Each floor had it's own history from its founding to the Civil War and beyond. Rooms had some original features along with modern bathrooms and amenities. Full complimentary breakfasts and late afternoon wine and cheese offerings. I highly recommend The Marshall House. "

"Absolutely loved it! Wish we stayed more than one night. Staff was amazing. We were an hour or so down the road and we got a call from the front desk. The cleaning staff found my wife had forgotten her diamond pendant and chain behind. They are shipping it to us. Definitely above and beyond. The common areas were great. We met some other guests that were quite friendly and entertaining. Will definitely come back and stay a long weekend next time we are in town. "

"Our experience was amazing. We enjoyed wonderful breakfasts with eggs, bacon or sausage, fresh fruit, and a biscuit, Belgian waffle or pancake every morning. We had cookies waiting for us in the afternoon and wine and appetizers in the evening. We never made it to the port wine and snack before bedtime. The inn is magical with it recently updated decor. The staff bed over backwards to accommodate, and the location is close to historical sites. We can’t wait to return. "

"Very beautiful hotel with stunning aritecture! There are numerous restaurants on site as well as being within walking distance to other eateries and activities. "The entire experience was great! As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Kevin who helped unload our luggage. He was very hospitable and amazing. "The staff here are the epitome of Southern Hospitality. The property could use a deep cleaning and new paint but, it feels like visiting Grandma's house so it was fine. You will never find a better continental breakfast than what they offer here. "

"This B&B is very beautiful. We stayed in the Live Oak room on the second flooor and it was lovely, with a large furnished balcony . Bed very comfortable. Met a few couples from different places and had nice conversations over a sherry wine and happy hour bites ( delicious) every night sitting at the living room with the cozy fireplace. "We always stay here at New Year’s, the concierge has great knowledge of the city and wonderful suggestions, pleasant staff, easy check-in, rooms are always comfortable and clean, in a busy city somehow it’s quiet inside so we sleep well, close to River Street and all of the restaurants, good breakfast in the morning, and even the small bar for some adult beverages!"
