If you're poorly prepared, travelling can be challenging. But there's no need to worry. Follow these handy hints for a comfortable start to your holiday in Acailandia. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be easy if you take the right things. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, your important medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between airlines, the general rule to follow is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, knives, fuels and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like hockey sticks, and items that could harm other people, such as pepper spray and firearms, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an aircraft are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and bring a cardigan as it tends to get cool in the cabin on long-haul flights. Flat, enclosed shoes are also a good idea.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To avoid this, make the most of every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression socks and tights are another easy way to help minimize this risk.
