No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you prepare well enough. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Amapala escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable goods, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Go for shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to take a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers during long-haul flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your feet and legs moving and wearing compression socks to help improve your circulation.
