We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and you'll be zooming through the airport and having a ball in Bergama before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and fireworks, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as possible. Pick slip-on footwear, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and remember to take a pullover in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
