Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of top travel tips that will get your Bromma escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack in your passport, important documents, bank cards and daily medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a tablet crammed with your favourite shows are some terrific options. If you plan to catch a few z's, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a few toiletry items to ensure you step off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a pocket knife lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive substances, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The goal here is to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Layer yourself up in natural fibers and remember to pack a pullover in case it gets cool. Pick a pair of roomy, flat shoes as your feet may swell a little during the journey. Leave the stilettos and hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity. Doing regular leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this happening. Wearing a pair of compression socks also helps reduce the risk.
