Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well prepared. We've put together a list of handy tips that will get your Carabao Island escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a pleasure if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, find room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to make yourself as comfortable as you can. Dress in loose, breathable clothing and take a sweater in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Go for a pair of roomy, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your checked luggage.
- The result of lengthy periods of inactivity, DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a serious condition that can affect passengers during long flights. The good news is there are ways to reduce your risk of developing it. Stay hydrated, walk around the cabin whenever possible and wear compression socks or tights.
