Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. We've made a list of handy travel tips that will get your Fiuggi holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a stress-free flight experience is to pack ahead. Start with the essentials: passport, travel docs, bank cards and daily medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help keep you occupied, like your laptop or a juicy novel. It's also smart to bring your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. And of course, don't forget to pop in toiletry items like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a spare change of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your priority when choosing what to wear on your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a sensible choice, as are enclosed shoes like sneakers.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
