Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've compiled a list of handy tips that will get your Frankenmuth holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you carry the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare pair of socks and a good novel. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, your important medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and poisons, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your priority when choosing what to wear on your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a smart choice, as are flat, enclosed shoes.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks or tights and keep your legs and feet moving.
