Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well organised. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Garzon escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a great experience if you bring the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean set of clothes and a good novel. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to feel as comfortable as you can. Layer up in natural-fibre clothing and remember to bring a pullover just in case you get chilly. Opt for a pair of flat, well-fitting shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the flight. Leave the high heels and hiking boots in your checked luggage.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers during long flights. The great news is there are numerous ways to lower your risk of developing it. Stay well hydrated, wander through the cabin as much as you can and wear compression tights or socks.
