Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. We've compiled a list of handy hints that will get your Gendawa holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right stuff. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean pair of socks and something to read. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) hiding in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive products, like aerosols and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The best way to ensure a comfortable flight is often as simple as the clothes you wear. Prepare for changes in temperature by bringing layers. That way you'll stay nice and warm if the cabin starts to cool down. Shoes like high heels and sandals are best left for other occasions. Even though they may be your favourites, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you later.
- The condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity. Doing regular foot and leg exercises in your seat helps to prevent this developing. Wearing a good pair of compression tights or socks is also recommended.
