Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Georgetown escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you take the right stuff. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, make room in your bag for your laptop, a charger, any medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and gasoline, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main priority when choosing what to wear on board. Loose clothing is a wise option, as are flat, enclosed shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
