Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Invercargill could be no sweat at all or it could go on forever. We've put together some useful tips that will help you start your next big adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your important medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by donning layers, and pick easy-to-remove footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
