We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be zooming through the airport and enjoying Lago Ranco in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack in your passport, important documents, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are some fantastic options. If you plan to take a quick nap, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll touchdown looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, pocket knives, spray paint and fireworks. Sporting equipment like ski poles, and items that could harm other people, such as pepper spray and firearms, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your number one priority when choosing what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear carefully too, as swollen ankles and feet are quite common. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a sensible way to go.
- A serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity. Doing regular leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this happening. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks is also a wise idea.
