Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Las Penitas could be as easy as pie or it could drag on forever. We've pulled together some useful travel tips that will help you start your next big adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be easy if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh set of clothes and a good read. Next, find room in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and poisons, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and take a cardigan as the temperature can drop in the cabin on long-haul flights. Flat, enclosed shoes are also a wise idea.
- The serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity. Doing leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights is also recommended.
