If you're poorly prepared, air travel can be challenging. But there's no need to panic. Follow these handy hints and enjoy a comfortable start to your time in Lethbridge. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a great experience if you pack the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, find room in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and opt for shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to remove.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and move your lower limbs often.
