Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've prepared well. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will get your Maniwa escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items differs between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, knives, fuels and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like baseball bats, and items that could harm other people, such as firearms and ammunition, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The key to a comfortable flight is as simple as the clothes you wear. Prepare for temperature changes by bringing layers. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin gets chilly. Shoes like sandals and heels are best left in your suitcase. Instead, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will appreciate it.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. There's lots you can do to lower your risk. Wear a pair of compression socks, stay well hydrated and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Wander around the cabin or perform some stretches in your seat.
