If you're poorly prepared, air travel can be tough. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these useful tips and enjoy a pain-free start to your holiday in Mitchell. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a pleasure if you pack the right stuff. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find room in your bag for your phone and charger, your medications and maybe a proper neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to be as comfortable as you can. Go for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to take a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers during long-haul flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your ankles and legs moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
