Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy tips that will get your Miyakojima holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a great experience if you bring the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your top priority when choosing what to wear on your flight. Loose clothing is a smart choice, as are flat, slightly roomy shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
