No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well organised. We've made a list of handy tips that will get your Monte escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good book. Next, leave space in your bag for your laptop, a charger, any daily medications and maybe a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a Swiss Army knife lurking in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive substances, such as bleach and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by donning layers, and wear easy-to-remove shoes like slip-ons.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and move your lower limbs often.
