Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're prepared. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will get your Murray Bridge holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a pain-free flight experience is to pack ahead. First up, the essentials: passport, boarding pass, credit cards and any vital medications. Next, take on board items that'll help while away those hours, like some electronic gadgets or a thrilling novel. You'll also want to bring your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earphones. Finally, be sure to chuck in toiletry items like a toothbrush, deodorant and a spare set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of an aircraft are not the place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and don't forget to bring a sweater as the temperature can drop in the cabin during long-haul flights. Flat, enclosed shoes are also a good idea.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing foot and leg exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this occurring. Wearing a quality pair of compression socks is also a wise idea.
