We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and seeing the best of Niagara-on-the-Lake in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, pack in your passport, travel docs, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a phone crammed with your favourite movies are some great options. If you hope to take a short nap, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll arrive at your destination looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and pick shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to take on and off.
- The result of sustained periods of immobility, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers during long-distance flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your legs moving and wearing compression socks to help your circulation.
