Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Palma holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a great experience if you pack the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by donning layers, and wear flat, enclosed shoes like slip-ons.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and move your lower limbs often.
