We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and having a ball in Pienza in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you pack the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and something to read. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your highest priority when deciding what to wear during your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a sensible choice, as are enclosed shoes like sneakers.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
