We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and you'll be zooming through airport security and enjoying Puerto Montt in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be easy if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any vital medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a pocket knife lurking in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive products, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Layer up with loose, breathable clothing and bring a cardigan just in case you get cold. Pick a pair of flat, slightly roomy shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the flight. Leave the high heels and hiking boots in your checked luggage.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-haul flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To prevent this, make the most of every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help lower your risk.
