We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and you'll be zooming through airport security and having a ball in Punta Diamante in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a great experience if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any vital medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Layer up in natural fibers and pack a jacket in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Always go with flat, slightly roomy shoes as your feet may swell a little during the journey. Leave the stilettos and heavy boots in your luggage.
- The serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this from happening. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks or tights may also help.
