We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as enjoyable as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be breezing through the airport and enjoying Put-in-Bay in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, pack your passport, travel docs, cash and vital medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling book and a laptop crammed with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you plan to catch more than just forty winks, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a few toiletry items so you'll step off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Pick shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to take a pullover in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
