If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be tough. But there's no need to worry. Follow these tips and tricks for a pain-free start to your time in Ra's Gharib. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack in your passport, important documents, cash and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a phone filled with your favourite movies are some great options. If you intend to take a short snooze, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you arrive at your destination looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of a plane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and take a cardigan as it can get quite cool inside the cabin during long-haul flights. Flat, enclosed shoes are always a good choice too.
- Unfortunately, one risk of flying long-haul is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression tights and socks are another easy way to help reduce this risk.
