No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Salamumu holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and something to read. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your number one priority when deciding what to wear during your flight. Loose clothing is a smart choice, as are enclosed shoes like sneakers.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To lessen your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your lower limbs often.
