If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be testing. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these useful tips for a pleasant start to your getaway in San Blas. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, put in your passport, important documents, cash and vital medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a tablet filled with your favourite shows are always good options. If you intend to take a quick nap, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll step off the plane feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and fuels, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and opt for shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. To lessen your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
