We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and discovering San Teodoro before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items differs between airlines, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes box cutters, razor blades, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like ski poles, and objects that could injure passengers, such as pepper spray and firearms, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and pick shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
