Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. We've compiled a list of handy hints that will get your Savannah holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, put in your passport, travel documents, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a phone filled with your favourite shows are some fantastic options. If you plan to take a short snooze, a neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a few toiletry items to ensure you hop off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fuels, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and choose shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
