If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be challenging. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these useful tips for a comfortable start to your holiday in Stateline. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be easy if you carry the right stuff. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare pair of socks and a good novel. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a pocket knife lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable products, such as fuel and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of a plane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and pack a sweater as it can get quite cool inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Closed-toed, flat shoes are also a good choice.
- Caused by sustained periods of immobility, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect passengers during long flights. The good news is there are numerous ways to significantly reduce your risk of developing it. Stay hydrated, get up and wander the aisles as much as possible and wear compression tights or socks.
