We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be cruising through airport security and having a ball in Stromsund before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack your passport, travel docs, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a laptop crammed with your favourite movies are some wonderful options. If you intend to catch forty winks, a comfy neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll arrive feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by dressing in layers, and wear easy-to-remove footwear like slip-ons.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
