If you're not prepared, air travel can be overwhelming. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a worry-free start to your time in Tepoztlán. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, put in your passport, travel docs, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling book and a phone filled with your favourite movies are always good options. If you hope to catch more than just forty winks, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll touchdown feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as you can. Choose a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to take a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
