Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Torquay could be as easy as pie or it could go on forever. We've pulled together some useful travel tips that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a great experience if you bring the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean pair of socks and a good read. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like a pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and go for shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to take on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
