Depending on where you’re coming from, your trip to Vang Vieng could be completely painless or it could go on forever. We’ve pulled together some useful tips that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It’s easy — first, put in your passport, official ID, bank cards and daily medications. Next, you’ll want some entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop crammed with your favourite shows are some wonderful options. If you hope to take a quick snooze, a neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a few toiletry items to ensure you arrive looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won’t be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an airplane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and don’t forget to bring a cardigan as it tends to get cool in the cabin during long-haul flights. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are always a good idea too.
- The condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It’s the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises in your seat helps to prevent this from happening. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression tights or socks is also recommended.
