I previously worked in the hospitality industry and understand you get what you pay for. "Room was small but very nice and clean . everyone was very pleasant . Would stay there again when I am in the area ."

"The sink was slow draining. The shower was too hot and when you tried to adjust it by turning it towards the cold, the water just trickled out and it was still too hot! The floor was so dirty my feet were black and had to be washed from walking across it. The staff was nice. The breakfast was fine: waffles, frozen Jimmy Dean egg sausage, cheese croissants, cereal, toast, bagels. "

"The pictures online are extremely misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the property at all. The room and hotel felt very old and poorly maintained, with visible signs that no real upkeep or renovations have been done in a long time. Everything looked worn down and neglected. The worst part was seeing a cockroach shortly after arriving, along with someone’s nail clippings on the sofa. At that point, we no longer felt comfortable staying there and decided to check out...

"This hotel is in a safe area but is currently undergoing renovations. It did not impact the rooms during our stay but the pool is currently closed. The amenities are very basic but it was clean. We did not eat there for breakfast so cannot comment on that. Our biggest surprise was that there was no coffee provided in the rooms and not even a plastic cup for water. Our rating would have been higher if those items would have been available without having to go down to the breakfast area. "

"Room was clean and nice, the bed was comfy. Road noise was a little load being on the front of the building. Staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was typical but presented very well. The chives in the eggs where a little much but was still plenty to eat. Would stay again maybe on the back side. Came for a show in the area. Was extremely convenient, was able to walk to and from the show."

"Check in was great after being on the road for 15 hrs with too dogs. Room was very clean well maintained kinda small but nice. Bed was comfortable but loud when you moved around. Asheville is dog city USA. Holding that name and being a dog friendly hotel they should have a small dog area or going to restroom or hanging out there wasn’t anything like this. over all 4 out of 5 would stay again for sure price was right"

"Staff was good. Breakfast was funny how limited it was (cheap prepackaged muffins). But it was fine. Room had some cleaning issues but they didn't really affect me. There were brown marks on a pillow and sheet. Could be something gross, or maybe chocolate muffin residue. But it certainly should not be there."

"I like The Fairfield Inn because it's the nicest of the hotels on Tunnel Rd. in Asheville. Excellent breakfast & super clean rooms. That are cleaned every day. Soft sheets & great shower. The black out shades were helpful & the window opens a little bit, but makes a difference with fresh air!"

"I freaked OUT over the general amount of filth and the amount of mold in the bathroom!! I never even put my things down. I took out my phone to take pictures of everything, then literally booked it out of there!! It’s no wonder they don’t show the bathrooms up close in the photos.
