"If you like stately old homes, this is the place. It is has got to be over 100 years old. The woodwork and spiral staircase are amazing. They don’t make homes like this anymore. Huge rooms, all redone; sitting parlors, one with a piano. It was simply amazing. And the staff was first rate, as was the free continental breakfast. We did a Red Wings game one night, Pistons the next, and the arena was a five minute walk to the end of the block and then across Woodward. This is also a slightly longer 10 minute walk to Ford Field, Comerica Park and the theaters on Woodward. Plenty of bars and restaurants a short walk away. "

"The hotel was very dirty. The halls smelled like smoke and urine. The side door to get in was broken. The elevator was broken. We ended up leaving and getting our money back. "

"Stay was great overall. Room was clean with good view of the Detroit river. Only two small issues. First, there were no towels in the room after checkin, but staff brought them immediately upon call to lobby. Second, at check-in, was delayed approximately thirty minutes as room was not ready but hotel management did comp valet parking fees to offset inconvenience."

"I made the reservation for this Baymont by Wyndham completely by mistake, as I thought I had made my reservation at the Madison Heights location near my clients studio. It was one of the best mistakes i have made since I married my now ex- wife! Iola, Shante, Rose and Dorothy took care of me like i was family and gave me phenomenal recommendations throughout Detroit. Do not overlook this gem of a location🙏"

"So I must say I was alittle disappointed by the hotel. I thought from the reviews I read it was going to be way more upscale. My check in was smooth and easy I did an early check in due to my early arrival which was okay. The lobby looked decent , however the Dunkin’ Donuts inside was so cleanly, didn’t smell so good and had locals hanging out in the seating area trying to flirt with me. When I reached my room, there was a big laundry cart in it I had to push out into the hallway. The room was accessible for a persons with a wheelchair which is good but since I am not in a wheelchair I had to pull the chair out of the shower. There was no shower door so I had to put a bunch of towels down to stop the water from flooding across the floor. The bathroom however was clean and decent , I did however clean it again to my satisfaction. The room itself was okay , it had a mini refrigerator that looked like someone took a knife and or key and keyed it all over differently a turn off. I kept smelling marijuana and cigarette smoke through the vents which was a negative for me being as though I don’t smoke , thank god I bought room spray I had to keep spraying it throughout my time there. The room was cold it wasn’t till day 2 going into 3 did I learn how to turn off the power and get the heat going . As for the casino I could barely stomach to stay in there long enough with all the cigarette smoke that was going on. The restaurants in the hotels were blah. I ate across the street "
