"Buffet breakfast was tepid, warm plates would have helped. Our second morning after our request they cooked it fresh to order - massive improvement. Unfortunately for our evening meal we were served undercooked batter on our fish. Restaurant staff handled brilliantly. Residences are not a part of the hotel in the main house but converted cottages, a short walk away and unlit. The toilet in the main bedroom wouldn't stop filling. Husband managed to shut it off, reported to reception next morning. Next night same occurred, we were told maintenance had gone home, luckily we managed to switch it off but making it unusable for a second night. Not really acceptable. Need a shelf for shower toiletries as they are on the floor. Second bedroom ensuite has a bath with shower over - needs a curtain of some sort as water goes everywhere.No spare pillows as one may have anticipated in the main hotel and they were quite flat. I'm sure more would have been available if we had asked again. The 'dressing table' needs a chair/stool to sit on no-one can stand to the mirror height. The heating in residence could only be set for 2 hours at a time so walked back into a cool property although the bedroom seemed to work continuously. More mugs are needed, we had to ask. Washing up liquid needs to be supplied. The property and bedlinen were spotlessly clean. No safe in the room. Spa was fine. "

"Room could have been cleaner had glass over dresser but eas dirty below the glass . Breakfast came out in dribs and drabs water for the tea/coffee was warm and not hot"

"Upon arrival, had to PHONE for someone to come to reception as there was no-one available on arrival. Eventually someone came down and gave us our room key. On inspection we found that the room was not clean especially the toilet. So PHONED again, only to have to wait approx 15mins to be told that rooms had not been cleaned. We changed room which was acceptable for 1 night. There seemed to be only 1 person on duty that was doing everything. IE: Reception, getting rooms ready!!! etc etc"

"Totally luxurious and relaxing experience. The surrounding river environment and villages idyllic. Well appointed room and comfortable bed. The Coppa can sting you a bit with service fees but good service food and atmosphere. Loved the Peirpont Cafe across the bridge for breakfast or lunch"

"Unfortunately for us we arrived later in day and upon returning to our room later that night we found our bed was unclean.Also we had opened wardrobes to look for more pillows to find the previous visitors used socks. Staff were helpful in moving room but not ideal circumstances."

"Lift been out of action all the time we have visited over the last year, 2 tea bags could have done with at least 4 24 hour reception but had to wait 20 mins for anyone to appear to give us our room key"
