"The property was very beautiful and this was a great home base for our week in Edinburgh. It was a bit away from the city center so we did end up taking buses and taxis more than expected. Traffic in front of the house gets quite busy around lunchtime and supper. While housekeeping provided a steady supply of tea packets and granola bars, we did have to venture out for food. I didn’t appreciate the cafe the guest house recommends but thankfully there were a lot of other options within walking...

"Sorry that there was no elevator, but because it is an historical property, it can not be installed. Staff was wonderful and breakfast and the room it was served was beautiful. Well worth the money if you can do 47 steps to the top floor. Were in our late 70’s and we did it!!!! Great spot and great people running it."

"It was overall a pleasant stay in the residence. The staff, most especially Romik were warm and welcoming. I even got a room upgrade which I highly appreciated not to mention the comfty bed! Location is also convenient as you have direct buses that can take you to the city center. I highly recommend staying at this accommodation."

"Please do not be put off by the negative reviews. I was worried after checking the reviews after booking the reservation, but the hotel and room were clean. Fresh towels and sheets were provided. There is an electric kettle with supplies for making quick tea. There is good parking at the back, and a bus stop right in front of the hotel. It was not noisy. "it was perfect for a family, conveniently located 15min away from the centre by bus or 35min by walk, small fridge in the bedroom and en suite bathroom, a couple of small supermarkets 10min walking from the premises. Also for the price £60/night is a 5*. "
