"The room was great. They only clean the room every other day, but they left enough towels for everyone to shower twice. The fire alarm went off in our room because of the shower. That scared the kids a bit. Our phone rang but didn't work, so someone came down to talk to us and explain that this sometimes happens in this specific room. There also was no conditioner in my bathroom, but I was able to use some from the kids' bathroom. Otherwise the room was great."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Old Lantern Inn in Charlotte VT. Our room was large with a king and a twin bed and views of Lake Champlain. The inn was very quiet and clean. We can’t say enough about the innkeeper Lisa; she went above and beyond to ensure that not only were our needs met, but our expectations exceeded. Continental breakfast is modest but tasty. There are only 8 rooms in the inn and it has a family feel. Guests seem to really enjoy talking to other guests & sharing local...

"Our first room smelled so badly of mildew that we asked to be moved. The next room smelled a little better but it was filthy. Paint was chipping everywhere, the tub had mold/dirt in the jets, and the side of the mattress was stained with what looked like blood (8”x8” area or so). The breakfast was mediocre and the eating area was filthy. Staff never asked how we felt about the new room, which was disappointing."

"The room was very spacious and the staff is excellent. However, staying on the 3rd floor had trouble sleeping because we could hear the guests staying above on us on the 4th floor. Also, doesn't seem well maintained.. there were chips in the shelves, doors, walls.. the door stop that prevents the door from opening when unlocked was loose and coming off. Shower head didn't look clean. Even though it was spacious there wasn't enough furniture to keep all our things on."
