"Overall, I had a very good experience with my stay at the Landmark. The staff were very helpful. I needed to use the room safe to store my medicine, checkbook, etc., but the safe would not work The staff went out of their way to get it fixed for me.
The only complaint I have is the size of the bathroom in the room I was in. The shower was large enough, but the bathroom was not much larger than those in campers. I realize it would be hard to correct now, but it was very poor construction planning. Also, an entry light is needed in the area where you store your suitcase. I was fortunate to have a light with me that I used each time that I needed something out of my suitcase.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay."
"THIS IS THE WORST PROPERTY DO NOT STAY HERE! The property is under construction. When we arrived, there was no running water and they didn't know when it would be turned on. Our room was dirty with construction dust. There were only sheets on the bed - no comforter or blankets and they were just poorly made up. The pillows were small and lumpy and the pillowcases were discolored. The air conditioner cover was laying on the floor. Outside our door in the hallway there was a used dental floss pick laying on the floor. We asked for a new room but it was just as bad. Overall the property was not clean and amenities were poor quality. We ended up checking out - how can you have people staying in a hotel that has no running water? We filed a complaint with Orbitz and asked for a refund but they were unresponsive. I wish I had taken more photos but only took a couple in my shock and haste to exit the property. We thought it would be an acceptable property because of the Wyndham name but it was horrible."
"The property was very clean. The bed was very comfortable except for the flat pillows. We had very poor tv for both nights. It was frustrating that we couldn’t watch the nba playoffs on either tv because their satellite had poor reception. The front desk never answers the phone so I went down to the desk and the employee was reading and eating pizza. The second night they didn’t answer because they were folding laundry. With that being said there are limited options in Pikeville(which is a lovely town)."
"The property is extremely run down and not at all what I would consider a clean or comfortable stay. The room had a very strong and unpleasant plug-in fragrance smell that seemed to be covering up other odors. The pillows smelled heavily of body odor, the white towels were stained and the dye from the blue towels ran when wet.
The bathroom and shower area need much better cleaning and maintenance. There was mildew on the bathroom ceiling, soap stains on the shower curtain that made it obvious it had not been washed before our stay, and a blue cleaning-product-like stain in the shower that appeared to have been sprayed but never wiped down. The toilet placement was awkward and would hit the wall when standing up.
The body soap provided smelled old, did not lather properly, and felt very low quality. Unfortunately, I had forgotten my own toiletries and had no choice but to use it. Also, bring flip flops because walking barefoot in the room or bathroom is not something I would recommend.
To be fair, the mattress was fairly comfortable and the atmosphere was quiet. The only positives were that the motel was pet-friendly and the front desk staff were friendly during check-in. Overall, I would not stay here again, even if it were free."
