The Historic West Walker Motel
2/10 Terrible
"The first room they put us in, A/C didn’t work so I called to make sure I was using the remote correctly. After determining that the A/C was the problem, they had us move to another room. The next room was so small that we couldn’t set up our dog crate (we chose this place because we were traveling with dogs). By the time we got all our stuff moved it was 9:00 pm, and we had a long drive in the morning, so we had to make the best of it. Then, we tried using the shower. There was no hot water in the shower. A/C and hot water are basic needs at any hotel room, and this place had neither. Being ex Army Ranger, I could handle a cold shower, but that’s not what I paid for. My wife is not ex Ranger and wasn’t going to take an ice cold shower. This room also has a window that was left open prior to us moving in, so we had a plethora of gnats and moths as roommates. The lamps were loaded with spider webs, and the bathroom door had to be wedged to stay closed. At 10 pm someone came knocking at our door to offer us yet another room. Though we appreciated the offer, we had been on the road all day and were going to be on the road all day the next day and didn’t want to move everything again that late at night. I called the next day & told them I wanted a full refund. I was told they’d have someone check out the problems and get back to me. I haven’t heard from anyone yet. Footnote: this place is right off the highway so you have to be ok with tractor trailers passing by every 30 second"

Walker River Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"I had A wonderful stay at the hotel, definitely the nicest place in town. Roxanne was incredible great service, great knowledge of the area, and A nice person!! I will be coming back to stay again as well as every other time I’m in Bridgeport."

"Beds are so soft and comfortable, rooms are clean and spacious"

American Inn
4/10 Poor
"It's definitely an old hotel. Got the room key after a bit of a wait. Thought it was weird I didn't have to sign any type of check in papers but whatever. Got in the room and the deadbolt wouldn't lock. There was no door guard type lock either. You know the one where you flip the loop over the other side? Nothing. Went to the front office and told him, he told me that it was fine. Unless someone had a key to my room, they can't get in. Uh no thanks. I'll take a new room. Had I not pressed the issue, I'm not sure a new room would have been offered. That's so sketchy. Got a new room, deadbolt worked and the door security lock was there. That makes the whole thing so much more sketchy. They definitely need to fix that. The bed is rock hard. Pillows were nice though! Not very much water pressure in the shower. I appreciated the affordable rate but I don't think I'd ever stay again."

Virginia Creek Settlement
8/10 Good
"It’s a great stay. It’s more like glamping than a motel or actual camping. But the outdoors amenities are great. Everything is a-al-carte though."

Ruby Inn
6/10 Okay
"No hot water"

Redwood Motel
8/10 Good
"My room was spotless and cleaned every day. Though on the smaller side, it contained everything I needed including mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker with plenty of in room coffee. Staff was helpful and friendly. For the fisherman, it had a cleaning station, fish freezer, with bags, rags, and free ice. Hard to beat that if you came to Bridgeport to fish!"

The Bodie Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"What a Gem of a hotel in the Eastern Sierra! We loved this unpretentious, very comfortable lodge. Recently remodeled, everything is super clean. Our Room (#1) overlooked Bridgeport's Main Street and the beautiful 1880 courthouse across the street. Main Street is also Hwy 395, but at night it's not busy. The Bodie Hotel is also an old building - it reminded us of a European B&B. Pro Tip: restaurants close early in Bridgeport, so plan your meals accordingly. So, if you're tired of motels, for about the same price try the Bodie Hotel instead. Highly recommended."
