"After all the hype of this property our expectations were not met. There appears to be a lack of attention to detail. Floor of our room was ‘grimy’ and had not been cleaned to the standard expected. Dirty bed linen and insufficient towels or water to cater for the number of booked guests. Breakfast was exceptional as were the breakfast staff. Wait staff in the pool deck were often hard to find. "It was a bit confusing for the check in process, no main reception or office. The people who run the restaurant next door, I think also own this property. There is no lift but staff happy to help carry. Was suitable for 1 night stay before going home. Glad I had room furthese away from the street. The street noise carries if you are a light sleeper. "

"This is an old hotel from Brits period. It is decently modern with hot/cold water showers comfortable beds with good linen. And the staff that work there are the most kindest and helpful people. Lovated right by the Buddhist Holy site, TheTemple of Tooth and the ancient lake, it is also very close for shopping as well Unlike many hotels in Kandy built on the mountain sides that require uphill downhill walksor TukTuks, Queens Hotel is right in the city. Only thing not to do is walking in the evening around the lake since all the birds in the world come to roost on trees around the lake. If you want to do a walk, go to the opposite side of the lake where paths are way from tree line. "
