"Overall, I would describe my stay at the St. Clair as good, but with room for improvement given the premium price. Check-in was disappointing, with a very long lineup, slow service, and visibly frustrated guests—not the best first impression. If you’re staying on a Sunday, be aware that the smaller restaurant closes at 7:00 p.m., although the nearby sports bar is a convenient alternative with a good atmosphere. The rooms are modern, clean, and well-appointed, but they are on the smaller side, and I could hear the guests in the room next to mine. If you book a balcony room, be sure to ask whether there is a privacy partition, as ours opened directly onto the neighboring balcony, making it uncomfortable to enjoy the outdoor space. The highlight of the stay was watching about ten freighters pass by on the lake, which was a fantastic experience, but overall I felt the hotel was somewhat overpriced and understaffed, falling just short of the level of service and polish I’d expect from a top-tier Marriott property."
