A fabulous gem of a hotel with very helpful staff. Beautiful rooms, extremely comfy beds, nothing too much trouble (I ordered a kettle to make tea). Right in the centre of the old town - perfect location. Gardens within the court yard a delight.
(NB Expedia - there isn't a swimming pool!)
Newly refurbished 1950s style retro room with view on main shopping street. Still very quiet. Very clean. Strict breakfast regime in stuffy breakfast room. Extensive roof garden area. Excellent restaurant.
The hotel is located in the middle of city and very convenient for sightseeing. The breakfast had all the basic things you need, and refilled frequently. There is a sauna and it’s opened till 11pm, it was refreshing after a long day of walking! If you want to have air condition in the room, make sure NOT to choose classic rooms. Newer rooms do have air conditioning, maybe good idea to double check with their homepage. One thing I wish they had in the room was mini fridge, but otherwise it was a very pleasant stay and everyone was very nice!
We had visited Erfurt on day trips, but this was the first opportunity to stay in town. We had a great time. We were very close to the places we wanted to see (Erfurt Dom, Krämerbrüke (finally was able to walk on it), and the Fish Market (full of fantastic places to eat). Very nice feel of an old city.
more to this hotel than meets the eye. great place to stay in the alstadt. bit difficult to drive the car to....

We’re so disappointed that my room type doesn’t have air conditioners which not mentioned in hotel.com. Otherwise we absolutely won’t book it. And the room facilities are old and the beds lack of support. We’re not happy for this stay.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Room comfort
I think I drew the short straw. The comfort room is on the ground floor. I had people walking past my room windows continually to get to the restaurant. There was a table and chairs outside of my room which was noisy and didn’t make for privacy. There is no curtain on the bathroom window - just frosting - so I felt uncomfortable at night with lights on. The lights from reception come through this bathroom window too. Not good for a solo older female. I believed the room was a step up from the normal room.
