Where to stay in Glasgow

City Centre Glasgow
Glasgow's City Centre pulses with Victorian grandeur and modern energy. Gothic Revival spires pierce the skyline while Buchanan Street buzzes with street performers. Theatres, music venues, and Scottish pubs create a vibrant nightlife scene. Museums and galleries showcase rich cultural heritage within walking distance. The area blends history with contemporary style through converted warehouses and modern architecture. Shoppers love the pedestrian zones with high-street chains and independent boutiques. With excellent transit options including two major train stations and three metro stops, exploring Glasgow couldn't be easier.

Merchant City
Step back in time among the elegant Georgian facades of Glasgow's Merchant City. Once home to wealthy tobacco lords, this historic district now buzzes with cultural energy and Scottish charm. The cobblestone streets lead to hidden courtyards and impressive landmarks like the Gallery of Modern Art. By day, explore boutique shops and admire the honey-colored sandstone architecture that tells stories of the past. When evening falls, the area transforms into a vibrant entertainment zone with lively pubs, restaurants, and performance venues. The Merchant City Festival showcases the area's strong cultural heritage with authentic Scottish experiences.

Finnieston
Once industrial, Finnieston has evolved into Glasgow's hippest district along the River Clyde. Award-winning restaurants and craft beer bars line the bustling "Argyle Strip" where young locals gather. The iconic OVO Hydro arena dominates the skyline, drawing music fans and culture seekers alike. Converted red-brick warehouses now house galleries and creative spaces that showcase Glasgow's artistic spirit. Two convenient train stations connect you to the city centre. The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and scenic riverside walks offer peaceful alternatives to the neighborhood's energetic dining scene.

Authentic curry houses line Victoria Road's famous "Curry Corridor," serving flavourful dishes at budget-friendly prices. Queen's Park provides 60 acres of Victorian greenery with panoramic city views. The area boasts excellent transport links with two train stations connecting to city centre in just 10 minutes. Red sandstone tenements create a distinctly Glasgow atmosphere throughout the area. Arts enthusiasts will appreciate the Tramway venue and Citizens Theatre, while shoppers can explore unique South Asian groceries and fabric stores.

Glasgow Westend

Wander through leafy streets lined with Victorian sandstone buildings and discover hidden cultural gems. Explore world-class museums like Kelvingrove Art Gallery or browse vintage shops along bustling Byres Road. The area pulses with creative energy thanks to its student population and artistic community. Cosy cafes and international restaurants cater to diverse tastes, while cobbled Ashton Lane comes alive after dark. With excellent subway connections and walkable streets, the West End offers the perfect mix of culture and accessibility.

"Great location next to the subway and walking to shops and restaurants. Really fun vibes and lovely staff."
The Social Hub Glasgow
"The hotel was excellent, clean, tidy, new with lots of amenities although nothing I used much of. Local also excellent, just of two of Glasgow's main streets and about a 10 minute walk from Glasgow central station. Room was clean and tidy, small, but hey was only sleeping in the room for one night. Staff on the open reception where polite and helpful, even at 3am! The breakfast was the best I have had in any hotel, massive choice of freshly made foods. There was only one gripe I had in then when booking in that had to take a double room when I was on my own (possibly due to room availability) but when it came to booking breakfast I wasn't able to book a single breakfast so waited to book when I arrived at the hotel to find it was £4 more expensive for a single breakfast than it was if I had booked the 2 breakfasts online, to make that worse it was another £5 ish if I decided the morning after to take breakfast taking it to well over £21, which was then I bit steep. As knew I was going to be most of the night I actually didn't know whether I was going to make breakfast in time at all so felt like I had been stung for it even though it was excellent. Great place but breakfast charging needs sorting to be more flexible and not priced differently depending on when booked."
Glasgow Marriott Hotel
"Nice hotel, clean room, very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was really good but a bit expensive, especially for four. Parking was easy."
